The Backstory
As a technology transformation leader for 25 years, I delivered $129M in sales and managed $89M in revenue for Fortune 500 clients. I built strategies for nonprofits and sponsored minority-serving education programs.
The strategies worked. So did I.
I became the first Black Female Managing Director in Accenture’s Houston office. The Universe conspired to make it happen, so it did.
That title put me in rooms where I was often the only Black woman. I shaped the deals, brought in the new logos, built the delivery methods teams ran on, and led global programs. I decided who got hired and who got promoted.
Then the congratulations died down. Now what?
For years I was running a vision built for someone else and never once asked whether it fit who I am. I lived that misalignment. I wasn’t leaving a legacy. I was losing myself in the chaos. So I left corporate life and never looked back. Then I built the work I wish I’d had.
I started advoca•C for a simple reason: to create opportunities that inspire self-reliance and community growth. This is the same work I’ve always done. Over the years, I have made room for others to grow. I mentored young adults, coached leaders, advised clients, sponsored my replacements and created strategies for communities of color.
Today, I help Black Corporate Executives break from a system built for someone else.
This is my lived experience. I have been the one staying, leaving, and starting over. Now I am writing my own story.
